The Elma School Board approved for our students to decorate their mortarboards (graduation caps) for our graduation ceremony. The following guidelines have been developed:
- No feathers, lights, streamers, or items hanging off the side of the cap
- The tassel must still be moveable during the ceremony, and it may not be decorated or modified
- Glitter is allowed, but please make sure it is glued securely onto the cap
- Topics should be school appropriate; words should be celebratory
- If a cap is determined to be unacceptable, the student will not be allowed to walk at the ceremony
- Caps will be checked at 12:15 on the day of graduation
Please do not decorate your cap until after the group photo on 5/25/2022
