2023 Bond Measure

On February 14, 2023, Elma voters will consider a $66 million bond measure. This bond addresses the essential needs identified by our recent community-based facilities study: overcrowding in classrooms, insufficient parking, and recreational spaces, and out of date and limited career, technical and alternative related facilities. To remedy these needs, this bond if approved by the voters will provide the following:

  • Construction of a new 4th - 6th grade upper elementary school next to the current elementary school. This significantly reduces our overcrowding issue for grade K-8th and creates a school setting to best address the unique and critical social emotional learning needs of our preteen students.

  • Construction of additional and improvements to existing outdoor athletic and activity spaces; including a multi-use/year-round field with covered stadium, the reconfiguration and improvements to existing district-wide recreation spaces and increased overall access to both students and community.

  • Construction to reconfigure and increase parking access to serve current elementary, new upper elementary and additional athletic and activities spaces. This will improve pick-up/drop-off congestion and overall traffic flow.

  • Improvements and innovations to modernize 7th - 12th grade career and technical related learning facilities. Well-equipped and diverse CTE, science, fine art classrooms and alternative learning spaces are critical to prepare students for post-graduation education and employment.
