Elma leaders tour Eatonville

Elma leaders traveled to Eatonville to tour the facilities.

Recently, leaders from the Elma School District teamed up with the Save Davis Field Foundation for an educational trip to Eatonville. There, they met with leaders from the Eatonville School District 404, who showed guests from Elma their newly completed stadium project in its entirety.

With covered grandstands that looked reminiscent of preliminary sketches made for Davis Field, a vision for what could be began to come into focus more. Not only that, but Eatonville leaders shared their experiences, especially helpful in exploring avenues in raising funds for a project of this magnitude. In addition to the grandstands, Elma leaders saw their track and turf field.

We are thankful for our partnership with the Save Davis Field Foundation, who have been instrumental in working with our community to give our students, as well as our community, the high-quality facilities they deserve. The members of Save Davis Field Foundation want this to be more than a stadium; they want it to be a space for our students, families, and community to celebrate and build memories in our town.

Eatonville funded their project through a combination of a Capital Project Levy and a Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) Grant—the same RCO Grant we are currently utilizing to improve the fields behind Elma Elementary. Being united in this trip was beneficial to see that Elma athletics and recreation has an exciting future.
