Elementary Fun Run a big success

A 3rd grade student had fun at the Elma Elementary School Fun Run.

ELMA, Wash.—On Wednesday, March 25, Elma Elementary School celebrated what has become a annual fundraiser—The Fun Run, where the No. 1 rule is...to have fun! It's safe to say hundreds of children followed that directive.

While the school's goal was to raise $30,000, the total wound up surpassing $40,000. Students vowed to run a certain number of laps in exchange for donations from their families, friends, and loved ones. The Elma community showed up in a major way for this event.

Credit also goes to the Elma Elementary PTA who poured in many hours of preparation and volunteer help at the event to ensure it went smoothly. Students were treated to a live DJ, a bouncy tunnel to run through, class flags, spirit shirts, and a water station to ensure proper hydration. Each grade's top fundraiser got to use silly spray on selected staff and volunteers.

The PTA will put the money raised back into playground equipment and other items that can directly benefit Elementary students.
