  • Business Technology successfully completed at the Middle School in the 7th or 8th grade satisfies the High School Computer Applications Graduation Requirement.
  • NEW! Robotics to the Middle School and High School with NXT Robots from Lego. The classes allow students to test their engineering and program skills which can be applied to over 1 million industries around the world.
  • Robotics classes plan to compete in the 2012 and 2013 First Robotics Challenge.
  • NEW! Extended health science to a Health Occupations career class. Option for teens interested in the medical field.
  • Consruction and Advanced Enviornmental Biology students built the Natural Resources Greenhouse.
  • EHS is partnered with WDFW to raise Coho Salmon and Trout for local waterway release.
  • Sports Medicine is teaching juniors and seniors the essential sports wrapping methods. They apply it by working with EHS athletes before practices and games.
  • Elma CTE offers 12 courses that are worth up to 83 college credits!
  • 168 EHS teens earned college credit through Teech Prep. 223 college credits were awarded/earned to EHS students.
  • Elma High School students saved over $22,300 during the 2010-11 school year in college credits!
  • Weyerhaeuser and Lowe's have granted EHS CTE $18,000 total to build a new Natural Resources Greenhouse that will be located by the existing Horticulture Production Greenhouse.
  • EHS Horticulture greenhouse grows the Elma and McCleary City Baskets for the summer.
  • CTE now has 6 classes at the middle school: Sustainable Science, Robotics, & Business Technology.
  • All 9th grade students become certified in First aid/CPR.
  • EHS Health Science Department has partnered with Fire District 5 to provide medical training in Health & Sprot Med.
  • Every Senior is working with local business for a Job Shadow Experience for the Digital Communications class.
  • 8th grade Sustainable Technology is exploring alternative energy in automobiles.
  • Adv. Commercial Art & Advanced Horticulture exhibited at the Country Bizarre at the fairgrounds.
  • Adv. Horticulture runs a floral shop during major holidays.
  • Career Exploration class listening to various speakers about careers, education, finances,etc.
  • Yearbook is on track and a self-sustaining business.
  • IT Academy is at EHS and EMS. Students can become certified in Office 2010.
  • Elma High School Business Administrative Assistants assist with the High School web pages.
  • Advanced Horticulture along with ASB will replace the existing landscape in front of the High School with a new one design by the students.
  • Leadership students along with ASB and FFA are connected with the community for the annual Food Bowl community development event.
  • Eagles TV is broadcasting and commentating EHS sports.
  • Sierra Pacific donated lumber for construction students.
  • EHS was the site for Skills USA Metal Fabrication Contest and Carpentry Contest.
  • Elma High School provides all students and staff with the lastest technology in the Adobe CS4 Master Package.
  • Adobe CS4 is funded by primarily funded by CTE enhanced state funding.
  • Adv. Hort/Plant Bio attended the NW Flower & Garden Show.
  • Food Bowl--over 59,000 pounds raised for Elma, McCleary, & Malone Food Banks.
  • Go Green--CTE Buuilding Solar energy will create positive energy credits for Elma Schools.
  • Copy Machine purchased for Business Admin Intern students.
  • Digital Photography created protraits for December gitfs to family.
  • Leadership Elementary Buddy program works with students on reading, group dynamics, and social skills.
  • Business Administrative Intern Class develops the HIgh School Newsletter for each grading/progress period.
  • EHS Science Fair slatted for March 21st. Science Fair projects in action for Ag and Environmental Biology.
  • Commercial Art will start fused glass design!
  • An EHS student can earn 27 GHC college credits worth over $2700 in value by taking Construction for 3 years, Adv. Ag Mechanics, and Adv. Ag Leadership! All they do is earn a "B" or better, and register for GHC at no cost!
